President OKs Deficit Deal

Shortly after the leadership of the Senate and the House announced they had come to agreemnet on a deficit reduction package, President Obama appeared at the White House to signal his approval of the deal that will prevent the nation from risking defaut on its financial obligations on August 2. The leadership of both parties must now present the package to their respective caucuses for final approval, a process that is expected to take place on Monday August 1.
