Bishop Claude Richard Alexander, Jr. is one of the most prominent faith-based leaders in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the senior pastor of The Park Church, a 9,000 member congregation that operates on two sprawling facilities in the city; including a 54 acre campus. The Park Church purchased the Charlotte Merchandise Mart and operates the Park Expo and Conference Center. Bishop Alexander earned a bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College, a master of divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a doctorate of ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife Minister Kimberly Nash Alexander have two daughters, Camryn René and Carsyn Richelle.
Our team from The Circle of Hope stopped by to see Bishop Alexander during this week’s Democratic National Convention to gain some insight from his perspective on his community, the challenges facing the African-American community and his thoughts about the future.
